Energy center for residential quarter

During the construction of a new residential quarter in the capital Berlin, particular emphasis was placed on efficiency and sustainability. The Luana solution: an energy center that produces heat, electricity, and hot water and distributes them to all 110 parties. Instead of installing an individual heating system in each of the more than 32 houses, the heat is generated centrally from one energy generation system, making the energy center for the entire residential quarter a reliable and ecological source of heat for all residents.

The energy center includes a CHP unit with 50 kW electrical and 100 kW thermal output. For peak load coverage, an additional boiler with 290 kW thermal output was installed. In total, this corresponds to an engine output of four cars with 160 hp each.

Domestic hot water is produced in the house transfer stations using the flow-through principle. This decentralized generation offers hygienic advantages on the one hand and energy benefits on the other.

In addition, tenants and owners benefit from low-cost, ecological electricity generated by cogeneration.
